The ATI TEAS® test is a multiple-choice assessment measuring basic academic preparedness in reading, math, science, and English language usage.
The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized exam used by many health programs to evaluate an applicant’s readiness. It covers four main subjects: Reading, Math, Science, and English Language Usage.
The TEAS exam includes 170 questions and allows 209 minutes for completion. Question formats may include multiple choice, multiple select (select all that apply), fill-in-the-blank, ordered response, and hot spot items.
At Ƶ-Ozark, the TEAS exam is required for admission to the following Allied Health programs:
Cardiac Sonography
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Physical Therapist Assistant
Practical Nursing

TEAS Testing Information – ATU-Ozark Allied Health Programs
The TEAS exam is scheduled by the Allied Health administrative assistant after health program application deadlines. An email with available test dates will be sent to the address provided on your application. Before testing, you must register and pay the exam fee at .
TEAS exams at the ATU-Ozark Campus are held in the Health Sciences and Wellness Building. A valid photo ID is required for check-in on the day of the test.
Types of TEAS Tests
1. Open TEAS Test
Open to anyone seeking additional opportunities to take the TEAS exam.
Offered twice per semester in February, July, and September.
Dates are announced via Tech email and social media.
2. Closed TEAS Test
Available only to program applicants after application deadlines.
Each applicant is assigned one testing spot during this period.
Held:
In March for Fall-start programs (after the March 1 application deadline)
In October for the Spring-start Practical Nursing program (after the October 1 application deadline)
Additional Information
The TEAS is a computer-based exam, and scores are available immediately upon completion.
Test results from TEAS tests taken in-person on the ATU-Ozark campus are automatically sent to the Allied Health Administrative Assistant.
Submitting Scores from Other Locations
TEAS scores taken online or at other testing locations are accepted if:
The test is Version 7, and
The score is less than one year old
If you test elsewhere, your official scores must be submitted to the Allied Health administrative assistant before the final Closed TEAS testing date for your application cycle.
